Clerkships

We offer both short term summer clerkships and longer term graduate clerkships. Both programs give our clerks 'hands on' exposure in either front end (transaction and advice) or back end (disputes) matters in at least one of our three specialist practice areas - corporate, commercial and  M&A.  Our programs have three objectives.

First, to teach you what you need to know to allow you to play a constructive role as a lawyer when you are admitted. This is done through a training program comprising some 40 modules. The program is overseen by outstanding lawyers each with more than 20 years of cutting edge experience.

Secondly, to allow you to decide whether you wish to join our team. You can only make an informed decision if you know our team members and you understand how our business operates, what we can give you and what we expect of you.

Thirdly, to allow us to decide whether to invite you to join our team permanently when your clerkship ends. We have worked hard to select an outstanding team. We are justifiably proud of our culture. It is crucial that we select team members who share our values and who will enhance our culture. This is best done if we know prospective team members before they join us.

Our 2010 summer clerkship and 2011 graduate clerkship positions have been filled. Information regarding next years clerkships will be made available on our website in March 2011.
