James Frearson-Lea

James (or ‘Freo’ as he is also known) joined the team at Kain C+C in March 2011 following a period working in-house within one of Australia’s largest infrastructure companies.

Between working and raising his young daughter with his wife, James tries to sneak some time to enjoy his other passions including playing golf, attending Rostrevor Old Collegians Football Club games and enjoying the occasional race meeting.

While completing his law degree and following admission to practice, James worked in two national law firms (including a six month secondment to Defence Materiel Organisation in Canberra) before transitioning to his in-house role.

James has a diverse range of experience and has recently been engaged on some of Australia’s largest rail infrastructure projects, including providing advice concerning contractual, property, environmental and planning (federal and state), and probity issues. As such, James joins our commercial team and looks forward to assisting our clients with their project and infrastructure requirements.

James holds a Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice (Honours) from the Flinders University of South Australia, and is a member of the Law Society of South Australia, Australian Corporate Lawyers Association, Norwood Football Club and the South Australian Jockey Club.
